Track your reflection streaks
Build a consistent journaling habit by tracking how many days in a row you write a daily reflection.
What are reflection streaks?
Reflection streaks measure how many consecutive days you have completed a daily reflection. They give you a gentle nudge to keep journaling regularly and help you build a lasting habit.
How streaks are counted
Your streak increases each day you complete a reflection. The key details:
- Streaks are based on when you reflect, not the date you reflect on. If you write a reflection on Tuesday about Monday's events, Tuesday gets the credit.
- One reflection per day is enough. Completing a single reflection on a given day increments your streak for that day.
- Miss a day and your current streak resets to zero. Your longest streak is still recorded, so you always have a personal best to aim for.
What is tracked
Do Everything records the following reflection statistics:
- Days reflected — The total number of days on which you have completed a reflection.
- Current streak — How many consecutive days you have reflected, up to and including today.
- Longest streak — Your all-time best consecutive reflection streak.
- Last reflected on — The date of your most recent reflection.
These statistics are calculated automatically and update each time you finish a reflection.
Evening reminder
To help you maintain your streak, Do Everything sends a notification at 8:00 PM each evening:
"Reflect on your day — Good evening! How was your day?"
You can manage this reminder in Settings:
- Turn it off — Disable the notification entirely.
- Snooze for three months — Temporarily pause the reminder if you need a break.
The notification repeats daily until you change the setting.
Tips for building a reflection habit
- Pair it with a routine — Reflect after dinner, before bed, or at another consistent time each day.
- Keep it brief — A short reflection still counts. You do not need to write at length every day.
- Use the evening reminder — Keep the 8:00 PM notification enabled until reflecting feels like second nature.
- Review your streaks — Checking your current and longest streak can motivate you to keep going.
