Track your emotions and moods

Record how you feel each day by choosing from five feelings and over 60 detailed moods during your daily reflection.

How emotion tracking works

Emotion tracking is the second step of the daily reflection flow. Each time you reflect, you choose a feeling and then select one or more moods that describe it in more detail. Over time, this builds a personal record of how you have been feeling.

Choosing a feeling

During Step 2 of your reflection, you are presented with five feelings:

  • Great — You are feeling wonderful.
  • Good — Things are going well.
  • Okay — Neither good nor bad.
  • Not great — Things could be better.
  • Bad — You are having a tough time.

Tap the one that best describes your day. Your choice determines which moods appear next.

Selecting moods

After choosing a feeling, a set of mood chips appears. These are more specific words that capture the nuance of how you feel. You can select as many as you like.

Moods are grouped by sentiment:

  • Positive moods (shown for Great and Good): happy, cheerful, excited, grateful, relaxed, strong, determined, energised, pleased, satisfied, pleasant, hopeful, proud, inspired, motivated, optimistic, loved, thankful, peaceful, confident, calm, safe, comfortable, content.
  • Neutral moods (shown for Okay): relaxed, satisfied, determined, hopeful, optimistic, content, safe, comfortable, unsure, bored, tired, confused, anxious, nervous, overwhelmed, stressed, insecure, jealous, embarrassed, disappointed, lonely.
  • Negative moods (shown for Not great and Bad): bored, unsure, confused, tired, anxious, nervous, insecure, overwhelmed, stressed, jealous, embarrassed, disappointed, ashamed, guilty, lonely, frustrated, annoyed, shocked, worried, sad, angry, panicked, scared.

Moods are shuffled each time you reflect, so the list feels fresh and encourages you to consider a range of emotions.

Changing your feeling

If you change your mind about your feeling, simply tap a different option. Your mood selection is reset when you switch feelings, since the available moods change to match the new sentiment.
