Getting Started
Navigate the app
Learn how the app is organised and how to move between its main sections.
The bottom tab bar
The tab bar at the bottom of the screen is the main way to move between sections. There are five tabs:
- Today — What's on for one day at a time: the tasks planned, due or with a reminder that day, the tasks you've completed, and that day's reflection. If you connect your calendar, it also shows that day's calendar events. Use the calendar strip to move to another day. This is also where you plan your day and reflect on it.
- Tasks — Browse all your tasks with sorting, grouping, and filtering options.
- Notes — View and search your notes in a visual masonry grid.
- Lists — Create and manage lists to organise your tasks and notes into groups.
- Journal — Read, search and filter your past reflections. To write a new one, start it from the Today tab.
The active tab is highlighted so you always know where you are.
The quick-create button
The Today, Tasks, Notes and Lists tabs each have a floating + button, and its label says what it creates: New task on Today and Tasks, New note on Notes and New list on Lists. Tap it to start a new item straight away. The label shrinks to just the + as you scroll. The Journal tab doesn't have one. On a day with nothing in it, Today shows a New task card instead of the button.
You can also create items directly from within a list or a planning time slot, but the + button is the fastest way to capture something on the fly.
Accessing Settings
- Tap your avatar (profile icon) in the top-left corner of any tab.
- The Settings screen opens, giving you access to:
- Personalisation — Answer a few questions to tailor the app to your needs. Until you've answered them all, this row reads Personalise your experience or Finish your personalisation.
- Appearance — Choose System, Light or Dark, and set your language, the start day of the week and your accent colours for light and dark mode. The Premium colour schemes need PRO.
- Defaults — Choose which lists new tasks and notes go to.
- Notifications settings — Choose which notifications you get: summaries of upcoming tasks (morning, afternoon, evening and night), daily planning and daily reflection reminders, and activity in your shared lists.
- About — Rate us on the App Store or Google Play, send feedback, view release notes and contact us.
- Account — Restore purchases, delete your account, or log out.
Navigating to details
Tap a task or note to open its detail screen, where you can view and edit all of its content. Tap a list to open it and see its tasks and notes. To change a list's name or settings, open the list's menu and choose Edit list.
To go back, tap the back button in the top-left corner. On iOS you can also swipe from the left edge of the screen; on Android, use the system back gesture or button.
Planning screens
Daily planning is accessed from the Today tab:
- Open the Today tab.
- Tap Plan your day to enter the planning flow. From 6:00 PM, on a day that already has tasks, the button just reads Plan.
- Choose tasks, assign them to time-of-day slots, and highlight your most important task.
