Track your reflection streaks
Build a consistent journalling habit: we record how many days in a row you write a daily reflection, and a place to see your streak in the app is coming.
What are reflection streaks?
A reflection streak is the number of days in a row on which you have completed a daily reflection. We record your streak, and a place to see it in the app is coming. Reflecting every day, even briefly, helps you build a lasting journalling habit.
How streaks are counted
Your streak increases each day you complete a reflection. The key details:
- Streaks are based on when you reflect, not the date you reflect on. If you write a reflection on Tuesday about Monday's events, Tuesday gets the credit.
- One reflection per day is enough. Completing a single reflection on a given day increments your streak for that day.
- Miss a day and your streak starts again. The next time you reflect, your streak goes back to one.
What is tracked
We record the total number of days on which you have completed a reflection, your current streak and the date of your most recent reflection. They update automatically each time you finish a reflection, and a place to see them in the app is coming.
Evening reminder
To help you maintain your streak, we can remind you at 8:00 PM each evening. The reminder is off until you turn it on. Once it is on, you get this notification:
"Reflect on your day — Good evening! How was your day?"
There are two ways to turn it on:
- After a reflection — When you finish a reflection, we may ask whether to remind you in the evenings. Tap Yes, remind me and allow notifications.
- In Settings — Go to Settings → Notifications settings and switch on Daily reflection in the Reflection section.
To turn the reminder off, switch off Daily reflection in the same place. If you tap Not now when we ask after a reflection, we won't ask again for three months.
The notification repeats daily until you change the setting.
Tips for building a reflection habit
- Pair it with a routine — Reflect after dinner, before bed, or at another consistent time each day.
- Keep it brief — A short reflection still counts. You do not need to write at length every day.
- Use the evening reminder — Turn on the 8:00 PM notification and keep it on until reflecting feels like second nature.
