Connect your AI assistant to Do Everything

What you can do

Once connected, your AI assistant can see your tasks, lists, and notes and answer questions like:

• "What's on my plate today?"
• "Which tasks in my Work list are overdue?"
• "Find my note about the trip to Lisbon."

With Do Everything PRO, it can also make changes for you:

• "Add a task to renew my passport, due next Friday, and remind me the evening before."
• "Make the bin collection repeat every other Tuesday."
• "Tick off the dentist task."
• "Save this as a note in my Recipes list and tag it #dinner."
• "Move everything left in Today into my Weekend list."

Tags work by name — ask for one that does not exist yet and it is created for you. Your assistant can also archive notes to tuck them out of the way, and delete tasks and notes outright.

Your journal and reflections are never shared with the connector — it only ever sees tasks, lists, notes, and tags.

You can copy the connector URL straight from the app, where you will also find a short version of these steps: open Settings → Integrations on the web, or Settings → AI assistants on mobile.

Connect Claude

1. Open claude.ai and go to Settings → Connectors.

2. Choose Add custom connector, give it a name — Do Everything — and paste this URL:

3. Click Add, then Connect on the new connector, and sign in with your Do Everything account.

4. Review what Claude is asking for. Reading your tasks and notes is always included; you can untick Create, edit and delete tasks and notes if you prefer read-only access.

5. Start a new chat and ask about your day.

Custom connectors work on every Claude plan; the Free plan allows a single one.

Connect ChatGPT

In the ChatGPT desktop app:

1. Go to Settings → Plugins and open the MCPs tab.

2. Choose Add → Add MCP server.

3. Give it a name — Do Everything — set the type to Streamable HTTP, and paste this URL:

   https://mcp.doeverything.app/mcp
   

4. Save it, then sign in with your Do Everything account and approve access.

On chatgpt.com, custom MCP servers sit behind Developer mode instead: turn it on in your ChatGPT settings, add the server from the Plugins page with the URL from step 3, then sign in with your Do Everything account and approve access. Not every plan offers the toggle, and on work accounts it also depends on your workspace's policy. OpenAI keeps reshaping this area, so the exact menu names may drift.

Free vs PRO

Reading your tasks, lists, and notes is free. Changing them from your AI assistant — adding, editing, completing, archiving, and deleting — is part of Do Everything PRO. If you ask your assistant to change something without PRO, it will let you know how to upgrade.

Privacy and control

• Your assistant sees exactly what you see in the app: your own tasks, lists, and notes, plus any lists shared with you. The connection is tied to your account and protected by the same sign-in you use in the app.
• You choose at connection time whether the assistant may make changes, and you can decline while keeping read access.
• Deleting is permanent and cannot be undone. To put a note out of sight without losing it, ask your assistant to archive it instead.
• To disconnect, remove the connector in your AI assistant's settings.

Troubleshooting

• "Rate limit exceeded" — the connector allows a generous number of requests per minute; wait a minute and try again.
• Your assistant replaced a whole note — asking it to change a note rewrites the entire body. Tell it to read the note first when you only want to add to what is already there.
• A repeating task is refused — recurring tasks need a due date to repeat from, so set one in the same request.
• The assistant says it needs PRO — reading is free, but any change needs PRO.
• The assistant says it needs permission to make changes — Create, edit and delete tasks and notes was left unticked when you connected. Remove the connector, add it again, and tick it this time.
• You can't find where to add it in ChatGPT — the desktop app and chatgpt.com put it in different places, and the web option is not on every plan; the Connect ChatGPT steps above cover both.
• Connection fails — remove the connector and add it again to restart the sign-in flow.
