Notes

Create and manage notes

Capture ideas, add images, and organise your notes with markdown formatting, tags, and lists.

Creating a note

  1. Tap the + button from any screen.
  2. Choose Note.
  3. Enter a title and start writing.
  4. Tap Save or navigate away — your note is saved automatically.

You can also create notes directly from within a list, or using the Android home screen widget.

Writing with markdown

Notes support markdown formatting, so you can add structure and emphasis to your writing. Switch between Edit mode (raw markdown) and View mode (rendered output) using the toggle at the top of the note.

Common markdown you can use:

  • **bold** for bold text
  • *italic* for italic text
  • # Heading for headings
  • - item for bullet lists
  • 1. item for numbered lists

Adding images

Tap the image button to attach photos to your note. You can add multiple images, each up to 10 MB. Images appear as thumbnails in the note and are displayed in full when tapped.

Image attachments are a PRO feature.

Adding a location

Tap the location button to tag your note with a place. The location is displayed with an address and a map preview on the note, which is helpful for travel notes, meeting notes, or anything tied to a specific spot.

Location tagging is a PRO feature.

Auto-save

Notes are saved automatically as you type, with a short delay to avoid saving every keystroke. You will see a status indicator showing whether the note is saving, saved, or syncing with the cloud.

If you navigate away while editing, your changes are saved before you leave.

Browsing your notes

Open the Notes tab to see all your notes displayed in a visual masonry grid. Each note card shows:

  • The first image as a thumbnail (if one is attached).
  • The note title (or "Untitled note" if none is set).
  • A three-line preview of the content.
  • Location address (if set).
  • Tag chips.

Searching and filtering

  • Search — Type in the search bar to find notes by title or content. Search is case-insensitive and updates in real time.
  • Filter by list — Show only notes belonging to a specific list.
  • Filter by tags — Show only notes with specific tags.
  • Sort — Order notes by title, creation date, or last updated date.

Archiving notes

When you no longer need a note in your active view but want to keep it, you can archive it. Archived notes are read-only and accessible from the Archived tab.

To archive a note, open the note menu and tap Archive. To bring it back, find it in the Archived tab and tap Unarchive.

Assigning notes to lists

Notes can belong to a list, just like tasks. Open a note, tap the List field, and choose a list and section. This keeps related notes and tasks together in one place.
