Add location to your tasks
Attach an address or location to your tasks, notes, and reflections so you always know where things need to happen.
What is location tagging?
Location tagging lets you attach a real-world address or place to your tasks, notes, and journal reflections. It is useful for remembering where errands need to be done, where meetings take place, or where an idea came from.
Location tagging is a Do Everything PRO feature. On the free plan, selecting the Location field shows an upgrade prompt instead. In the web app, the field carries a PRO badge.
Adding a location to a task
- Open a task.
- Select the Location field.
- In the search box that appears, type an address, place name, or landmark.
- Select a result.
- Select Save at the top of the task to keep the location. If you leave without saving, we ask whether to discard your changes.
Viewing the location
Once added, a map preview is shown in the task, below the location field.
On mobile
Tap Open in Maps below the map to look up the place in your maps app and get directions from there.
On the web
Select Open in Maps below the map to look up the place in Google Maps, which opens in a new tab, and get directions from there.
Opening a location from a notification
On mobile
When a reminder arrives for a task that has a location, the notification includes an Open location in Maps action. Tap it to look up the place in your maps app without first finding the task in Do Everything.

Location on notes and reflections
On mobile
You can also add a location to notes and journal reflections using the same search flow. This is useful for tagging where you wrote a note or made a journal entry.
On the web
You can also add a location to a note, using the same search. While you're editing the note, select Add location in the toolbar on its right-hand side (Change location once it has one). Notes save on their own, so there's no Save step. Reflections are only in the mobile app.
Removing a location from a task
On mobile
- Tap the Location field to open the search sheet.
- Tap Clear at the bottom of the sheet.
On the web
- Select the Location field.
- Select Clear location at the bottom.
The location is removed once you select Save. If you leave without saving, we ask whether to discard your changes.
Location tagging attaches a place to your items for reference. It does not send automatic reminders when you arrive at or leave a location.
